Summary/Objective
The Quality Control Lab Technician is responsible for chemical, physical and/or microbiological analysis of beverage components and blends. Duties include preparing documentation and coordinating or performing testing and analysis to ensure quality standards are met.
Essential Functions

1. Verify that Quality equipment is functioning properly by performing and documenting maintenance, calibration, and verification to ensure product testing results are accurate.
2. Perform daily raw material receipt by reviewing COAs, sampling materials, and logging receipt and inspection results to verify that all materials meet specifications.
3. Perform shelf-life extensions when needed.
4. Verify effectiveness of cleaning & sanitation procedures by performing pre/post-operational inspections of production lines to verify beverage contact equipment is in a sanitary condition.
5. Perform environmental testing by collecting water samples and by performing hygienic swabbing throughout the facility to ensure the effectiveness of sanitation procedures.
6. Fill out batch reports, calculate variations in batch sizes, proper attributes, standards, and other data required on batch reports documented per formula.
7. Measure and follow proper mixing procedures, paying close attention to accuracy.
8. Keep Quality laboratory in order and with necessary supplies by cleaning the lab, equipment and performing supply inventory in order to maintain housekeeping expectations.
9. Perform and document facility auditing to ensure that all required testing is being performed and that process operating guidelines are being followed.
10. Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing of beverages, syrups, and raw materials throughout the entire production process and analyzes attributes.
11. Conduct filling line quality inspections, quality audits and isolate product that does not meet standards.
12. Assist in the development of measures to avoid mistakes in cooperation with Quality lab supervisor.
13. Assist to adjust materials or production batches that deviate from the target state with supervision from supervisor.
14. Support investigations of customer complaint issues.
15. Verify information on Production & QA Batch Tickets as needed.
16. Send production samples to Customers as per their request.
17. Send analysis requests & final product samples to external third party laboratories.
18. Assist in implementation and enforcement of the internal guidelines concerning hygiene, HACCP, food and job safety.
19. Coordinate with other departments for a seamless product delivery to the customer.
20. Maintain an organized, clean, safe & health conscious work environment.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid and cold temperatures.

The employee is often required to sit; occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days can vary depending on production schedule.

1. Associates degree in science-related field
2. 2+ years’ experience in laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in science-related field
2. Food & beverage experience a plus.
