The Amarillo Club is seeking a Pastry Production Cook. We are willing to train the right candidate. Ideally this candidate would have kitchen or bakery experience, and the willingness to learn new techniques. We're a tight knit team that places a high value on attention to detail and making everything in house. We have a set dessert menu, but there would be a lot of room for creativity once training is complete. We make everything from plated desserts, to wedding and special occasion cakes, to mini pastries and breads in house.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and produce a variety of food items including cheesecake, layer cakes, breads and cookies
- Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistent quality and presentation
- Decorate cakes and pastries according to customer specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and work area
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production flow
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Reliably work the schedule provided
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and experience in pastry production and cake decorating
- Excellent culinary skills with a focus on food preparation techniques
- Ability to handle food safely and maintain proper hygiene practices
- Familiarity with the food industry standards and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Effective time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
