Job description
· Prepare patient for office visit by obtaining vitals, current medications, allergies and charting in electronic health record the appropriate signs and symptoms for the provider.
· Respond to patient voicemails and prescription refill requests.
· Set up and assist in office procedures.
· Maintain all equipment and instruments by using appropriate sterilization processes.
· Assist with administrative duties including prior authorizations for radiological exam.
· Prepare, stock and clean patient exam rooms.
· Travel with your provider to other office sites.
· Prepare lab specimens for transport.
· Follow up on results of laboratory tests and x-rays at the direction of the provider.
· Orders and maintains clinical supplies.
· Schedule appropriate follow-up appointments and treatments.
· Maintain patient EHR, files and other information.
· Attend required staff meetings.
· Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
· Work closely with provider to provide excellent patient care.
· Teamwork with all office staff.
· Perform other duties as needed.
Position Requirements
· High school degree, associates or bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
· Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
· Certification from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required.
· At least one year of medical office experience is required.
· Knowledge of proper medical procedure including infection control.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Strong conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to work independently as well as a productive member of a team.
· Knowledge of electronic health records, appropriate documentation and medical terminology.
· Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
