POSITION SUMMARY
The Dental Assistant is a member of the dental health services team and performs duties and related support according to established policies and protocols of CHC dental department. This position reports to the Director of Dental Administration.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Follows established intake standards and properly prepares patient for Dentist.
- Prepares dental materials correctly as needed in an amount sufficient to meet the needs of the procedure.
- Consistently anticipates the sequence of dental procedures and is prepared in advance.
- Efficiently disinfects rooms and prepares operatories and monitors room equipment and supplies.

- Adheres to a safe, hygienic and comfortable patient environment.
· Handles all equipment with care and always use infection control barriers. Relationships
- Maintain a positive relationship within and among the dental staff, as well as with other departments within the organization.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with patients, contractors, vendors, third party payor resources and related entities.

PRIMARY TASKS AND DUTIES
· Prepares dental materials correctly, as needed, and in an amount sufficient to meet the needs of the procedure without excessive waste of materials
· Prepares operatories, disinfect rooms, monitors equipment and supplies, and maintains film developing and processing equipment; including replenishing fluid levels, cleanliness, etc.
· Assures that all instruments, charts, and radiographs are available prior to patient’s arrival.
· Ensures chart information is accurate and complete and follows with the appropriate personnel.
· Tracks lab cases according to established procedures.
· Performs assigned housekeeping tasks and housekeeping documentation.
· All other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES
· Professionalism to include daily contact with patients and co-workers.
· Knowledge of dental equipment and use
· Basic computer skills
· Attention to detail and able to multi-task.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Radiology certified
Experience
· High level of communication and customer service skills
· 1 – 2 years work experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
