About the position:
Warehouse on Wheels (WOW) is looking for a Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist to be part of the People Operations team. You will be responsible for managing the recruitment process from start to finish and ensuring a positive onboarding experience. The position demands great communication skills, solid organizational skills, and a keen interest in sourcing and developing talent in a blue-collar setting.
In this role you will design and execute efficient hiring plans and help new staff fit well into the organization's culture. The Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist collaborates with hiring managers and other internal stakeholders during the process to provide a high-quality experience for candidates and to meet hiring objectives.
Manage all aspects of the hiring process from drafting job ads and criteria to conducting interviews and screenings.
Work with hiring managers to find effective recruiting methods and strategies for different roles through various channels such as job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
What you’ll be doing:
- Screening applicants and selecting candidates; interviewing them to evaluate their qualifications.
- Arranging interviews; prepare interview questions and materials.
- Ensuring a smooth transition of candidates into the organization
- Keeping stakeholders informed about the progress of new hires
- Completing and reviewing pre-employment screening and reference checks according to laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Informing new hires about first day requirements via email.
- Verifying new hires' IDs and eligibility to work using the E-Verify system
- Answering inquiries, phone calls, and requests for information about job opportunities
- Assisting candidates with any technical issues with the applicant tracking system
- Creating and updating job descriptions.
- May participate in job fairs.
Requirements for your success:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in onboarding and recruiting required.
- English/Spanish bi-lingual required.
- Proven ability to organize and manage time and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for various roles.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices relevant to hiring and recruitment for a multi-state organization.
