Overview
The primary responsibility of the Senior Billing Analyst is to support weekly and monthly invoicing, collections, and cash application procedures, as well as assisting in ensuring that all accounting is completed in accordance with US GAAP. This role will also assist with both internal and external financial reporting for the company.
Responsibilities
- Support weekly, Monthly, and quarterly invoicing as per the GAAP guidelines. Includes preparing and distributing invoices to the customers accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Collaborate with internal departments to get data corrected to ensure a high degree of invoice accuracy.
- Communicate with the customer about invoicing details enabling invoice corrections, answering customer's questions, acting on rejections and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare high volume T&M invoices on a weekly basis, FFP and CPFF invoices monthly in the financial system.
- Assist with audit requests.
- Reconcile invoices based on labor data and follow workflow procedures as per SOX compliance requirements for approvals and submit in government portals (IPP, WAWF, Tungsten, etc.).
- Maintain trackers to follow up through invoices that need re-submission.
- Prepare Credit Memos for rejected invoices and resubmit as per the requisites.
- Be responsible for the AR aging and collections process.
- Internally and externally communicate with Project Control, Project Managers, contracts and customer team regarding current and aged billing issues.
- Provide insight to management about the customer outstanding balances and actively engage in collecting the open items.
- Engage in cash apps procedures and record the daily bank/check collections in the financial system.
- Prepare and send out daily and weekly reports to higher management regarding AR collections, Cash applied, Quarterly collections, Aging, etc.
- Provide financial analysis of the project being handled to improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' experience working in an accounts receivable function of a government contractor
- Government Contractor experience and invoicing on federal government contracts
- Working knowledge of federal government invoicing and payment platforms, such as WAWF and IPP.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Experience working with large volumes of data
- Proficiency in Office 365 suite of applications (Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate, facilitate and disseminate information
- High level of organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
Basic Compensation: $80,000 - $85,000 yearly salary
The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates' skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant's salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
