Job Title: System Support Engineer II
Location: Austin/San Antonio Metro
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
We are seeking an experienced Tier 2 System Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing top-level technical support to our clients, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing solutions in a fast-paced environment. You will also play a key role in helping our clients migrate to and optimize their use of cloud technologies.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a technical support or engineering role.
- Strong Experience in supporting Business Networks, Servers and Applications.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Experience with Automation Tools such as Datto RMM, N-Able, ConnectWise Automate, etc.
- Experience with Service Desk tools such as HaloPSA or ConnectWise.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Here's what an ordinary week might look like:
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of customer service, systems, and infrastructure availability.
- Providing onsite and remote support for our growing Austin/San Antonio Customer base
- Work closely with system architects and mentors to implement improvements to both internal and customer systems.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions or software installation/configuration problems.
- Respond to customer inquiries and assist in troubleshooting and resolving challenges.
- Ability and willingness to work outside of regular business hours.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any task.
- Microsoft 365 administration.
- Support Windows 10/11 and Mac based Business networks.
- Set up hosted Windows and Linux VMs.
Here’s the experience we expect will help you excel in this role:
- 2-4 years of proven work experience as a technical support specialist, network engineer, systems administrator, or a related field working in the following areas:
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Mac/Linux/Windows-based environments.
- Cloud technologies, preferably in AWS, Azure
- Monitoring systems (LogicMonitor, Datto RMM, Observium)
- Scripting skills, PowerShell preferred
- Networking knowledge (Layer 3 Routing, Firewalls, IPSec VPNs)
- Hardware and software configurations
- Analysis and review of system logs, disk space utilization, processor and memory utilization
- Patch, backup, and anti-threat measures
- Client communication (verbal, written, and in-person)
Even more helpful:
- Previous Experience working at an MSP/VAR/MSSP
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- CompTIA Security+ certification
