Job Summary:
Makarios Hospitalist Group is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist to join our internal medicine physician group. As a Hospitalist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.
Duties:
- Manage the medical care of hospitalized patients under the internal medicine specialty.
- Coordinate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment plans.
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment strategies.
- Utilize occupational health, telehealth, and medical imaging technologies effectively in patient care.
- Provide care for various conditions including ER visits, primary care needs, nursing home residents, infectious diseases, and surgical oncology cases.
- Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients.
Skills:
- Proficiency in managing acute medical conditions and performing medical procedures.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Knowledge of aliment management and disease prevention strategies.
- Experience in utilizing telehealth platforms for remote patient consultations.
- Familiarity with ER protocols and handling emergency medical situations.
- Understanding of primary care principles and continuity of care practices.
- Previous experience in nursing home care and geriatric medicine is a plus.
- Expertise in infectious disease care and infection control measures.
- Knowledge of surgical oncology treatments and post-operative care.
