Optivus is currently looking for a professional to join our team and assist us with our mission of saving lives through Proton Beam Therapy, using their skills and experience as an Electrical Engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analysis, Design, Test, Integration, and Installation.
- Execute design, test, integration, and installation assignments in accordance with project team objectives and requirements.
- Coordinate assignments with the other project team members (including the team leader, mechanical, electrical, production, field service, and software engineers, technical writers and technologists).
- Document in accordance with Optivus standards.
- Translation of customer needs and requirements into technical requirement specifications.
- Derivation of development plans and Statements of Work for meeting the technical requirements.
- Estimation of project development costs, and schedules. Document supporting rationale.
- Proposal preparation and editing.
Based on field service support events and resulting opportunities for improvement, update Fault Isolation procedures, documentation and implement design and process enhancements focused on achieving improved system reliability and availability.
Support the resumption of patient treatment by assisting the Field Service Team by telephone or in person. Immediate phone/cell response is expected during normal business hours, and within a reasonable time after normal business hours
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ideal candidate must be able to present information clearly and efficiently between team members verbally and in writing.
- Experience with troubleshooting and fault isolation of complex electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical systems
- Highly developed planning and organizational skills are required.
- Demonstrated abilities in analog and/or digital design from conceptual stages through manufacturing are required.
- Experience in high power switch mode and multi-phased controlled rectifier power supply technology and fundamentals. Ability to troubleshoot power conversion circuits and systems.
- RF experience is desired.
- Experience with Linux desired
- Experience with PCB design and schematic capture is desired.
- The ideal candidate will also have experience using high end EDA tools (VeriBest) along with Matlab, Mathmatica and MathCad.
- The successful candidate must have excellent writing and organizational skills and be able to efficiently document every state of a project.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BSEE from a four-year college or university with two years of work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and technical specifications, procedures and manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and other engineers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret data in graphical, written and mathematical form
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
- Able to assist troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical systems
- Able to climb ladders as well as under of over equipment (as part of accessing equipment during servicing)
- Able to file and make photocopies.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds.

- General office environment.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
