MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will develop and maintain engineering projects and facility requirements for machinery and equipment in an industrial facility.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Provides proper training to workers to implement operating procedures, safety protocols, and avoid system malfunctions.
· May assist with supervision of technicians/maintenance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Develops specifications and performance requirements for industrial equipment.
· Calculates cost analysis for integrating new machinery and equipment into the manufacturing process.
· Coordinate with outside tool shops/vendors in the purchase or modifications of tooling/equipment
· Assist in the day-to-day resolution of problems arising on the production floor. This includes safety, quality, and equipment problems.
· Uses programming knowledge and experience to adapt equipment to specific job applications.
· Prepares operating instructions and programs for equipment.
· Oversees installation of machinery and equipment to ensure they function according to specifications.
· Evaluates machinery to ensure it has the capability to complete desired functions.
· Analyzes alternative techniques and methods and recommends changes to equipment or procedures as needed.
· Establishes schedule of procedures and maintenance routines to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
· Shares technical information and training with other departments.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Extensive knowledge of engineering and programming including electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, robotics and metal stamping operations.
· Proficient with SolidWorks and other computer industrial design systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
· Proficient with GD&T, computer design systems, and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
· Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements
· Working knowledge of process documentation (D/PFMEA, Process flow, Control Plan)
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science required; Master’s degree preferred.
· Four years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing process engineering, highly preferred.
· Design experience and development of programmed applications highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
· Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the industrial facility.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
