New Employee Requirements
All potential employees will have a background and criminal records check completed to verify no criminal history within the three years prior to the application for employment.
All new employees must provide the following information prior to their start date:
- Verification that they are 18 years of age or older
- Provide a copy of a current drivers license
- provide a copy of adequate automobile insurance
- Negative TB screening completed prior to start date. A negative chest x-ray is required for all employees who have a positive skin test followed by annual screening by a licensed medical professional
- Certification in CPR by an approved State of Indiana provider
- Copies of all licenses and certifications required for position
- Employees must have at a minimum, a verified United States Residency Status
TruCare LLC will not extend employee or agent contracts to anyone who had a background and criminal record check that turns up any of the following:
- Sex crimes
- Battery
- Neglect
- Exploitation of an endangered adult or of a child
- Failure to report the battery, neglect, or exploitation of an endangered adult or of a child
- Theft occurring within 10 years of application for employment
- Criminal conversion
- Criminal deviate conduct
- Murder
- Voluntary or Involuntary Manslaughter
- Offenses related to alcohol or controlled substances
- Non-residency status
Direct Care Staff Job Description:
Direct Care professionals provide the health, safety, and well-being of individuals with disabilities, and support their interests and choices so that they may lead fulfilling lives. The position requires patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills; especially in communicating with individuals who may have communication challenges
Position Duties
- Monitor as determine that daily activities are consistent with the individual’s approved program schedule.
- Document activities as they occur.
- Confirm any schedule changes with the scheduling manager in advance and document these changes.
- Assist individuals with their daily living based on their ISP. These tasks include but are not limited to:
- Assistance with basic daily living tasks. These may be bathing, dressing, personal grooming, eating, and any other tasks identified in the individual’s ISP.
- Assisting with home management tasks. These can include preparing meals, grocery shopping, household shopping, cleaning, and any other home management tasks identified in the individual’s ISP.
- Increasing levels of independence by providing daily undertaking that promotes self-management.
- Administering routine medication as directed in the individual’s ISP
- Providing transportation for individuals to doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, work, and any other places identified in the individual’s ISP.
- Ensure the medical conditions/needs of clients, including prescribed medications, are attended to, documented, and communicated to all staff.
- Develop relationships to build trust and execute developmental and operational activities.
- Ensuring great housekeeping for residents.
- Assist and lead group activities.
- Communicate clearly and proficiently with staff members.
- Document data displaying individuals’ goals and progression.
- Abide by all TruCare LLC Policies and Procedures
Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Caregiver/Direct patient care, 1 year(Preferred)
