POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for inspection and sampling of incoming, in-process and finished product for evaluation and testing purposes. Responsible for label inspection and correction for incoming, in-process and finished product. Responsible for quality inspection, approval, verification and testing as outlined in the QC Procedure and Specifications SOP. Responsible for proper routing and corrective action for materials on QC Hold and Warehouse Hold (RM). Responsible for performing plant and equipment sanitation inspection to ensure compliance to Food Manufacturing GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Responsible for additional quality control duties as needed.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
1. Work closely with Contract Packaging personnel and perform all incoming material external examination, sampling and label inspection and QC “HOLD” or “ACCEPTED” placard/sticker application before and after product evaluation and testing per Starwest Botanicals Receiving Standards.
2. Responsible for inspection, evaluation and any necessary testing of in-process material to assure batch uniformity and integrity of product and compliance with Starwest Botanicals Products Specification while working closely with production personnel such as Contract Packaging Machine operators & supervisor.
3. Responsible for Contract Packaging product labels inspection and evaluation to insure the quality and accuracy of labels
4. Performing plant sanitation periodic inspection in relation to Starwest Botanical compliance to all FDA, EPA, State or Local Regulations.
5. Supporting the Quality Control Manager in collecting and maintaining all Quality Control Dept. documentation and data collection regarding Contract Packaging.
6. Complete all other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
7. Support and follow all Company Policies and Procedures
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1. High school diploma and some college study in Biology, Botany, Food Technology or related field.
2. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP Programs, and FDA, EPA, State and County Regulations for a food manufacturer helpful.
3. Must have good English reading, writing and communication skills.
4. Must be a team player, but also be able to work independently.
5. Must demonstrate good math and organization skills.
6. Must know basic computer skills
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1. Natural Foods Industry experience.
2. Botanical Products industry experience.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.40 per hour
