Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded financial leader to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the COO, the CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and direction of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance and accounting, with proven leadership skills and a track record of driving financial performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to support the organization's growth objectives and long-term sustainability.
- Provide strategic guidance and financial analysis to senior management and the Board of Directors to inform decision-making and drive business success.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and operational objectives.
2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to optimize profitability, mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
3. Capital Management and Investment Strategy:
- Manage the organization's capital structure and investment portfolio to maximize returns and minimize risk.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and potential acquisitions, conducting financial due diligence and risk assessments to support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders to secure financing and capital resources as needed.
4. Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and assess financial risks facing the organization, developing strategies and controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Oversee the internal audit function and coordinate with external auditors to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and accounting standards, implementing changes as necessary to maintain compliance.
5. Leadership and Team Development:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively, empowering team members to take ownership of their work and develop their skills and capabilities.
- Cultivate strong relationships and effective communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve shared goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership position.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams to achieve organizational objectives.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, anticipate future trends, and develop innovative solutions to financial challenges.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
