PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I – FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM / DISTRICT FACILITIES MANAGEMENT / STATEWIDE CREWS / CANNABIS CREW NORTH
The reporting location for this position is Mobile Equipment Office in McClellan, CA. This position will work under the general direction of Park Maintenance Chief I.
The Park Maintenance Worker I will work with the Proposition 64 Cannabis crew to ensure access is available for remediation and restoration of cannabis cultivation operations and ongoing patrols to prevent recurrence. Incumbent participates and leads in performing skilled and semi-skilled work. The incumbent will mostly work on remote sites in rugged terrain in State parks throughout the state as assigned based on operational needs. While on these assignments in other Districts, the Park Maintenance Worker I may receive project specific technical supervision from Maintenance Supervisors and/or Maintenance Chiefs of the receiving District.
The incumbent may be required to spike or camp out when assigned to work at remote locations where commuting is not practical, or motel accommodations are not available.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
Extensive travel is required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
The incumbent’s work schedule will be Wednesday to Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Working Conditions
This position requires extensive travel and long-term project coordination at any State Park. This position is required to work nights, weekends, odd hours, and overtime in accomplishment of assigned tasks. This position will spike camp at work sites throughout the state. Remote work locations, 8–10 day work assignments, overnight travel, and spike camps are expected.
