- Plan, schedule, execute, and complete mechanical running, emergency and preventive maintenance work.
- Work closely with Maintenance Superintendent to meet the needs of the plant and stationary equipment.
- Be sure that the people in the department are properly trained in maintenance craft skills and safe work practices, including the potential environmental impact effect by malfunctioning plant equipment. Evaluate training needs and provide additional training as needed.
- Must complete all assigned work in compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements (i.e., OHSA, DOT, DOL, etc.), including safety programs administered at a State or Local level where allowed by the Department of Labor.
- Supervise some projects, including bidding, budgeting, and field supervision of contractors and plant employees.
- Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts by participating in the plant’s on call program. This includes evaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents after hours and on weekends while on call and may require on-site supervision of the resolution to maintain operational efficiency. Must be willing to work weekends and after hours for supervision of emergency repairs as needed.
- Set and maintain high standards for safety and both the quality and quantity of the work of the department.
Education
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- 5 years of experience in maintenance work in a cement plant, including equipment failure troubleshooting and hydraulics.
- 2+ years supervisory experience required.
