We’re looking for friendly, energetic, and motivated people to join our team at the Falls Bistro in Cobblestone Hotel & Suites in International Falls. As part of the culinary team you will be providing an above average customer experience for hotel guests, your neighbors, and peers. If you do not have experience but a willingness to learn and an interest in a culinary career, we will train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Produce high quality plates using established recipes and high standards
- Be proficient in all aspects of food preparation in an organized, safe and timely manner
- Properly store foods in designated storage areas adhering to safe food handling standards
- Ensure cleanliness of work areas, equipment and utensils
- Washing of dishes, pans, kettles, food trays, boards as required
- Ensure compliance with all sanitary and safety requirements
- Maintain high focus on positive customer experience
- Handle pans, kettles, food trays and other cooking related implements in a safe and efficient manner between work areas and food storage areas
- Distribute supplies, utensils and related items as required
Qualifications
We are willing to train candidates with a willingness to learn kitchen skills and have an interest in culinary careers. Individuals with experience are encouraged to apply and discuss pay commensurate with skills and qualifications.
- Have excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- A true willingness to provide high quality service to hotel guests, local customers, and peers
- Solid organizational skills to maintain order, work independently and part of a kitchen team during busy rush periods.
- High work ethic with an excellent sense of responsibility
Work requires being able to stand for extended hours as well as reach upwards, bend, safely handle all implements of the tasks required for food preparation in an efficient and timely manner, and being able to routinely lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 45 pounds.
Work schedule may vary and as such successful candidates must have flexibility to work late evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United
States.
