Designs and coordinates direct patient communications with a specific focus on acquisition, integration and operational changes in care notifications (provider change, term or move; clinic closure or move; payer term; panel movement, etc.), patient engagement letters and mailings, patient quality letters and mailings, Medicare ACO and CIN notices, and other. Position may include creation and deployment of nonclinical patient emails, project tracking and adherence to compliance and legal requirements. Position includes other duties as assigned that are critical to the effectiveness of the communications team.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages patient notification projects for changes in patient care
- Creates and sends notification packets for Texas and Florida Medical Boards to adhere with legal reporting requirements
- Manages patient notifications projects for acquisitions/integrations, clinic operational changes, network and payer terms, patient quality measures, CAHPS/HOS messaging, and other requests that require direct patient communication on nonclinical measures
- Ensures stakeholder requests are reviewed and coordinated appropriately
- Coordinates with stakeholders and internal partners for written material development
- Write/edit content that is aligned with applicable audience / stakeholder needs
- Write/edit communications that are clear, simple, error – free, and grammatically correct
- Adhere to applicable external / governmental guidelines and requirements (e.g., legal, regulatory)
- Draft patient messages using UHG and South Region style and editorial standards
- Identify and ensure involvement of appropriate stakeholders in the development/review/approval process
- Submits and receives compliance review for all external materials
- Routes patient notifications to approvers and coordinates deployment with vendor
- Approve Workfront tasks and test proofs in Optum Workfront
- Collect reporting data and update email reports, upload to SharePoint reports
- Develops strategy and deploys patient emails that align with clinical care, quality and growth goals
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of copywriting or professional experience
- 1-3 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, digital communications, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite and web-based platforms
- Working knowledge of AP Style

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
