Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.
*Summary of essential job functions*
1. Set up banquet room as instructed by Banquet Captain and/or F&B Manager to include linen, service ware, and glassware
2. Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations
3. Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner
4. Serve the food and beverage in the order and to the expectations of the Banquet Captain to ensure consistency throughout the banquet
5. Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course or meal at the end of the meal or function
6. Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction
7. Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to the Captain’s specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function
8. Perform all assigned side-work to include replenishing condiments and restocking banquet shelves with supplies
9. Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned to adhere to health standards
10.Other activities and responsibilities that you will be asked to perform in management’s judgment that is not morally wrong.
*Educational/Experience Requirements*
1. Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
2. Hospitality experience preferred
3. Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certifications
4. CPR Certification and First Aid training preferred
*Abilities Required*
1. Must have a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
2. Must have knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service-ware
3. Basic knowledge of English sufficient to understand inquires from customers and communicate simple instructions
4. Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel
5. Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items
6. Ability to transport up to 30 lbs through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift
7. Ability to operate beverage equipment, such as a coffee maker
