POSITION PURPOSE
The primary responsibility of the PSR counselor is to provide psycho-social rehabilitative services (PSR), focused on social skills. The Counselor provides services on-site, in school, office, or other available location(s) as determined by the Clinical Director and Program Coordinator. The counselor provides services to a range of diverse client groups including children, and adolescents. The counselor participates in multidisciplinary treatment teams to target individualized treatment plans and assist in other services being provided by paraprofessionals and professionals qualified and licensed members of the Community Mental Health Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
- Part-time and full-time positions are available
- Provides psycho-social rehabilitative services focused on social skills in a group setting within the community to adults, children, adolescents, and their families.
- To maintain client confidentiality, uphold HIPAA regulations, and be sensitive to the unique needs of each client
- To implement the program curriculum
- To supervise, participate in, and administer therapeutic activities with clients
- To document for 12-15 clients each day
- Provides PSR on-site, in office, school, or other available locations as determined by the Community Mental Health Center.
- To assist in academic development (i.e. homework assistance)
- To conduct one one-on-one group tutoring sessions with struggling clients
- To prepare and create activities for client(s) to do
- To supervise activities and engage the clients in appropriate socialization
- Provides culturally sensitive services to diverse groups including children, adolescents, and adults.
- Will receive supervision and direction from the Clinical Supervisor.
- Maintains working relationships with school administration, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to target individualized treatment plans.
- Complying with all necessary documentation/reports; written as indicated by the Clinical Department
- Attends required training to facilitate professional development.
- Provides occasional transportation for PSR clients when in need
- Provide an attendance log to the Site Manager daily.
- Maintains documentation and logs as needed.
- Works effectively with culturally diverse groups and individuals experiencing functional deficits, and educational, interpersonal, and behavioral health barriers associated with client’s behavior.
Education:
AA degree in Social Studies, Social Work and/or related fields
Bachelor of Psychology
Bachelors in Social Work
Bachelor’s in Mental Health Counseling or related fields

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
