AmesburyTruth is looking for a Distribution Manager to join our team in Sioux Falls! The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing warehousing and distribution activities at the AmesburyTruth Sioux Falls facility. As a key member of the Operations Leadership Team, the Distribution Manager will lead a team of 30+ members across multiple shifts. This role encompasses all inbound and outbound distribution operations, inventory accuracy, cross-docking operations, expedited shipments, and transportation coordination.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safety Management: Establish and maintain a culture of safety throughout the warehouse, ensuring a safe and secure work environment with high safety awareness among team members.
- Compliance Management: Ensure distribution processes comply with company quality policies and ISO standards.
- Goal Setting: Set and achieve Key Performance goals and objectives aligned with the Corporate Sales & Service plan.
- Budget Management: Evaluate, develop, and operate within the annual budget, deploy capital prudently, and ensure adherence to personnel budgets.
- Problem Solving: Analyze distribution and logistical problems to develop solutions, including hardware and software applications that drive accuracy, efficiency, and customer loyalty. Apply lean principles across distribution operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain Import/Export systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
- Space Optimization: Ensure warehouse space is optimized for maximum efficiency.
- Inventory Management: Develop and implement methods to maintain accurate inventory levels at the facility.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct annual performance reviews to deliver optimal business results.
- Team Relations: Maintain positive relations with team members, listen, support, engage, and encourage suggestions and input to achieve excellent results.
Qualifications / Prior Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations Management is preferred; or a minimum of 7+ years of management experience in Distribution or Logistics with a non-supply chain bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: Proven experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of achieving significant distribution-related savings year on year. Proven experience in distribution management.
- Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead a team and drive decision making in a collaborative environment.
- Certification: Logistics/supply chain certification is desirable.
- Critical Analysis: Ability to conduct critical analysis and assessments to develop action plans ensuring efficient, lean, and effective processes for quality delivery of goods and services.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated strong business acumen, organizational, and analytical skills with working knowledge of other business functions, such as EH&S, Quality, Planning, Finance, Maintenance/Engineering, and Human Resources.
- Team Building: Proven track record of building credible, reliable, customer-focused teams.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative/integrative work style focused on accomplishing objectives. Demonstrate a track record of business partnership among peers.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office), ERP/WMS software experience; SAP experience is a plus.
