Purpose of Position: The position of Personal Banker assists customers in their selection of various account types and financial service products; opens, maintains and closures of all account types; and performs a variety of clerical duties. Personal Bankers are also required to have a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and achieving sales goals, be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of teller, vault, safe deposit, consumer loans, discussing and accepting credit applications, and is required to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced new account representatives and other branch staff members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

1 year New Accounts/Personal Banker or similar service-related experience preferred

Basic math skills required including ability to accurately calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate and resolve routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.

Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand and follow procedures, write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, employees, and the general public.

Intermediate PC skills including Windows 10, Word and Excel. Jack Henry a plus.

Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.

Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

Previous teller experience a plus or the ability to complete cross-training within 6 months.

Effective organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.

Intermediate knowledge of general office practices.

Valid driver license and vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Must possess Notary Seal or be able to obtain within 3 months
