Rivermont Elementary is a PreK-5 school located in Chattanooga, TN. We are an inclusive, positive and engaging community that supports achievement, growth and independence by motivating students and staff to purposefully explore academic interests and passions in an environment in which all are valued and respected.
All students have the opportunity to explore STEAM ideas and problem-based learning in an engaging environment. This curriculum allows for integration across content areas. Our open-enrollment promotes our diversity as well as parent involvement. We are a small school with a community feeling. Parents, community, teachers and staff work together to provide a safe, productive and engaging learning community where we build readers, writers and thinkers.

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver and assess effective instruction that is tightly aligned with State standards.

Designs lessons based on best practices with clear learning targets and measurable goals aligned with State standards and/or unit outcomes. Frequently plans collaboratively with colleagues.

Conveys high expectations while using multiple effective strategies, materials, and classroom practices that involve and motivate students while differentiating instruction to meet students’ needs.

Uses colleagues and own self-reflection on instructional practice to continually improve instruction.

Classroom Management & Relationships: Fosters a well-structured and engaging learning environment by utilizing effective classroom procedures and routines while showing caring, respect, and fairness for all students.

Family & Community: Consistently develops strong relationships with students’ families while diligently informing parents of expectations, positive news, and/or concerns about their children. Provides opportunities for parents to be involved in their children’s learning.

Teaching candidates must hold a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in Elementary Education (K-5) or be upcoming graduates in an accredited teacher preparation program. If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must

Compensation
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
This position may be eligible for an increase in total compensation. The Differentiated Compensation Plan applies to designated schools and hard-to-staff positions.
