Plaza College is seeking a (part time) Clinical and Front Desk Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Plaza College Community Dental Clinic and front desk duties for our part time evening and weekend dental hygiene program and provide support to the existing dental hygiene program framework.
This position is expected to greet and welcome all patients of the clinic and ensure the policies and procedures are strictly enforced and adhered to.
Must provide the highest quality customer service both on the phone and in person at all times and ensure a positive experience when welcoming patients, students, faculty, and guests of the clinic.
Further, the Clinical and Front Desk Administrator position is responsible for the day-to-day function of a high-volume, rapid-paced clinic, which requires a robust dental background, superior organizational skills and communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
Immediate scheduling needs include:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 12pm - 5pm & Saturdays 730am - 1230pm
Come the Spring semester (May 2024), hours would be adjusted to:
Monday/Wednesday/Thursday - 430pm to 830pm & Saturdays 730am - 1230pm
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate must 3+ years of experience in a dental capacity
Certified Dental Assistant, Trained Dental Assistant, or Dental Administrative Assistant
Associates degree preferred, dental assisting certification preferred
Dental front and back office and clinical experience
Experience with ordering systems through dental supply companies, comprehensive clinic maintenance, knowledge of bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease management through Standard Precautions, current with immunizations, and must have CPR certification within one year
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Friendly and professional demeanor at all times
Team player who can also work autonomously
Availability to work weekends and evenings, as needed
Operate a variety of office equipment
Engage effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse population
Effectively communicate in oral and written form with a range of groups including faculty and students whose first language is not English
Clear understanding of the college’s mission and target audience served
