About The Role
The Field Survey Data Processing Analyst is a vital member of the United Utility's Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering group. This role is pivotal in processing, managing, and overseeing the integrity of all survey data. The Analyst ensures the efficiency and accuracy of data processing operations, supports field teams with critical data insights, and ensures seamless integration of field data into our operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- LiDAR Data Processing: Handle the conversion and processing of LiDAR data into LAS files, ensuring high standards of accuracy and quality. Optimize workflows for processing data to enhance project turnaround times.
- Field Imagery Quality Assurance: Oversee the sorting and quality control of all field imagery, certifying data accuracy and reliability.
- Condition Assessment Reports: Lead the preparation and finalization of detailed condition assessment reports, integrating various data sources to provide comprehensive insights.
- Thermal Imagery Data Management: Manage and organize thermal imagery data, ensuring efficient retrieval and analysis capabilities.
- GPR Report Creation: Develop and compile detailed reports from ground penetrating radar (GPR) data, analyzing subsurface findings to assist in decision-making processes for engineering and construction projects.
- Operational Scheduling Support: Coordinate with field service managers to schedule survey operations, enhancing the efficiency and timeliness of field activities.
- Fleet Management Assistance: Oversee fleet logistics, including maintenance scheduling and tracking, to ensure operational readiness and efficiency.
- GIS Data Management: Maintain and update GIS datasets for field and office use, ensuring high data integrity and applicability in collaboration with GIS specialists.
- Survey Equipment Inventory Control: Manage the inventory of all survey equipment, including drones and terrestrial survey tools, to guarantee availability and operational maintenance.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Superintendent of Field Services, including document management, meeting coordination, and other clerical duties. • Data Integration and Innovation: Assist in initiatives to integrate survey data with other company (Internal and External) databases and systems and brainstorming on new innovations to elevate the department’s offerings.
Key Qualifications
- Education: o Associate degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Skills: o Expertise in LiDAR data processing and familiar with LAS file formats. o Proficient in managing and assessing the quality of field imagery. o Skilled in GIS applications and integrating between various program formats.
- Operational Management: o Experience with operational scheduling and fleet management. o Proficient in survey equipment inventory management.
- Software Proficiency: o Strong capability with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and other relevant software. o Experience with data integration tools and platforms, understanding of API usage for system integration.
- Communication: o Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, experience in client-facing roles.
- Personal Attributes: o Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Training and Development: o Strong training and presentation skills; ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
