POSITION: Rail Transloading Assistant
POSITION PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the transloading Assistant is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient transloading for organic grains from truck to rail cars meeting the requirement to handle and transport organic crops. The position involves working with the grain merchandising and transportation team to help complete delivery and shipment of grains. The assistant will organize and prepare the rail site, ensure adherence to grain quality, weights and measures, and quality control procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Transloading assistant duties are:
- Sampling, grading, and testing grain based on USDA and Organic policy.
- Coordinate proper preventative maintenance for GLGT equipment.
- Adhere to GLGT’s safety and sanitation policy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high level of professional character, integrity and trust building ability.
- Agriculture experience and basic knowledge of farming and agribusiness.
- Strong attention to written detail and has the ability to organize documents accurately.
- Mechanical ability would be helpful.

JOB LOCATION: Ideally we would hire someone to work out of their house and travel to our loading sites. We have sites in Manly IA, Wessington SD, Fairfax IA, Eldred MN, Saginaw MI. When not on the road, employee could work from home on administrative tasks directed by staff at main office. Travel would be up to 75% of the time during busier season of fall harvest. Varying other times of the year.
