Job Description
Job Summary
This is a full-time on-site role for a Roadway Worker In Charge. The Roadway Worker In Charge will be responsible for providing protection of railroad workers on the construction and maintenance of railway tracks and bridges. Our RWICs provide protection for contractors as well as Railroad personnel exclusively.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Setting up a variety of on-track protections.
- Responsible for customer communication in acquiring all safety specifications for the project.
- Responsible for job safety briefings.
- Maintain clean and organized workspace.
- Send daily work reports.
- Experience working with On-Track Safety procedures and regulations.
- Deep understanding of railway operations and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to direct and supervise groups of workers of any size.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in remote locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous On-Track Safety experience is a plus
- Experience in the railway industry is a must for this position.

- Qualifications and experience in On-Track Safety procedures including training in GCOR, On-Track Safety, Safety Rules and Forms of Protection.
- Proven management skills, practices, and planning ability.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Highly effective planning, organizing and problem-solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly experience working with MS Excel and MS Project applications.
