Summary:
Provides safe and efficient transportation of clients and children to and from various destinations. Reports to Program Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years or older. Valid Class B driver’s license with proper endorsements. Knowledge of safe driving techniques. Clean DMV printout. Proof of automobile insurance. Familiar with substance use treatment. Familiar with the west end of San Bernardino County and surrounding area, Current CPR and First Aid certificates. Professional appearance and pleasant mannerism.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Abide by California Vehicle Code and laws at all times while driving.
- Assure safe transportation of clients.
- Supervise maintenance of vehicles.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain records.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of agency vehicles.
- Maintain timely and appropriate communication with clinical staff and supervisor on all matters relating to clients.
- Coordinate with executive assistant regarding DMV Employer Pull Notice Program.
- Coordinate vehicle/program inspections by CHP.
- Prepare and train other drivers.
- All other duties deemed necessary and appropriate by management.
- Maintain compassion, empathy, and professionalism toward clients; their family members and/or significant others at all times.

- Attend all required agency staff and training meetings.
- Adhere to policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness.
- Ensure the highest level of service is provided to the people we serve.

- Adhere to policies and procedures set forth for agency.
- Adhere to all safety and housekeeping standards established by IVRS.
Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time; lift reach and climb.
- Must be accustomed to outdoors and inclement driving conditions.
- Must be able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
- Must be able to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
