Job Description
The Maintenance/Engineering technician is responsible for the overall execution of maintenance and improvement of the facility’s tea, Manufacturing equipment and material handling systems as well as general building and site systems. This position is accountable for the safety, quality, delivery, and cost control in their area(s).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance on all types of production equipment
- Operate power tools and basic shop machinery for repairs, make modifications and improvements to existing equipment
- Determine scope and estimate work required to execute repairs or improvements with limited guidance of the Plant Maintenance Manager
- Develop detailed work plans and standard work to ensure jobs are executed in a timely and effective manner.
- Coordinate the purchase of materials as needed to execute jobs.
- Track work orders and job execution in EMaint (CMMS) for blending, facilities, Production equipment, Teabag machines, conveying system, robot area and other areas as assigned.
- Provide process improvement support, safety support and GMP support to the facility.
- Proactively collaborates with managers and others to assess machine and mechanical issues. Participate in repairs as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
- Experience working in the Food Industry is highly desirable
Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Education or GED required. Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred in engineering or maintenance related field, or 10+ years performing essential job tasks.
- Excellent hands-on electrical and/or mechanical skills required.
- Must pass Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude Assessment
- HVAC certification is a PLUS
- Must have welding and fabrication skills
- Be able to read and understand schematics, technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience in PLC, VFD, and automated processes.
- Required computer skills: CMMS, Excel, Work, Power Point.
- Industrial background in high-speed manufacturing. Machine shop and welding experience is preferred.
- Must be motivated self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have own set of tools
Working Conditions:
Alternately works in a climate-controlled office environment or in plant operations of high-speed manufacturing plant environment. Must be able to tolerate temperature and humidity variations as well as noise caused by equipment. May need to be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day and occasionally lift 25-50 pounds.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk up and down stairs as needed to attend meetings and go to the Production floor if needed. Moderate lifting of up to 25 pounds may be occasionally required.

Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
