Shipper/Receiver
Load and unload trucks using electric forklifts. Completes paperwork properly. Assesses the quality of the product, measures temperatures, and weights. Assists with raw product waste removal, baling of cardboard/wax boxes, trash, and cleans up the warehouse common areas as needed.
Work Schedule
Schedule may vary based on management needs in the plant. May require overtime depending on inbound/outbound deliveries. Requests to be scheduled off on a specific day require advanced notification and approval by the supervisor.
Scope
This position reports to the Shipping/Receiving Team Lead and has no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
Load and unload trucks using stand-up and walk-behind forklifts
Check incoming product for quality and quantity, temperature
Check the temperature of orders before assembling and shipping
Rotates stock in the coolers as needed
Sorts of garbage for disposal and recycling
Complies with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
Dumps raw product waste in the waste room
Bales cardboard and wax boxes (must be trained and comply with LOTO procedures)
Pick and palletize product for shipment
Accurately fill out the information on shipping and receiving documents
General cooler and warehouse cleaning (i.e. sweeping, garbage removal, sanitizing of warehouse machinery)
Simple maintenance tasks (tightening bolts, inspections, re-lacing conveyor belts, etc.)
Operator-level maintenance of forklifts and scissor lift
Other tasks as required
Physical Requirements
Able to lift 50lbs without assistance. Work is performed indoors and outdoors; in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities, and in an office environment. The position requires working around processing plant equipment and transport trucks. Must be physically capable of working extended hours in a wet/cold environment, standing for long periods of time (at least 8 hours).
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Have an HS diploma or GED equivalency. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while performing each essential duty. In last 6 months, proven forklift driving experience either on stand-up or sit-down forklift. Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years forklift certified in a warehouse environment. Previously trained people to operate industrial-powered equipment.
