Classification: Non-exempt - PT3: 26-31 Hours Weekly
Description: A faithful Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for the planning and implementation of an appropriate educational program, which shall follow the guidelines of the approved curriculum, the Christian philosophy of Rancho Christian Preschool and all relevant legislation, policies and procedures in a safe and developmentally appropriate environment.
Areas of Expected Proficiency:
Plan, supervise and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies and Christian philosophy of Rancho Christian Preschool
Must be able to evaluate students on an ongoing basis through the use of observation notes and maintaining a student portfolio. Must be able to use the data to prepare a written formal evaluation and meet with the student’s parents and orally present the data at parent-teacher conferences
Must be able to plan, implement and supervise a daily preschool classroom program that will address the spiritual, physical, emotional, social and mental needs of the individual child in a group environment
Maintain a classroom environment that is controlled and safe, allowing the children the freedom of choice and exploration with clearly defined structure
Must be able to write weekly lesson plans using material from numerous resources as well as the approved curriculum
Must be able to implement methods for effectively utilizing a classroom assistant(s), including clear communication and careful supervision
Must be able to quickly respond and summon for help in an emergency
Other Expectations:
Abide by a code of confidentiality in all matters involving the children and families enrolled in the schools
Maintain an ordered arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom
Attend all scheduled staff meetings and training sessions, including completing 12 hours of professional growth a year
Assist, plan and participate in special events such as Back-to-School Night, Open House, etc.
Assist and participate in designated public relations, school fundraisers and community events sponsored by the school
Plan and prepare daily snacks for students in class per Title 22 regulations
Plan and conduct weekly chapels as assigned
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
Perform other related duties as required
Physical Expectations:
Able to sit, stoop, bend, lift, reach, stand and walk for sustained periods of time
Able to use hands and fingers to perform tasks.
Able to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate effectively.
Able to work in a wide range of weather conditions
Able to lift or pull at least 50 pounds
Able to speak, read and write in English

Demonstrate a passion for Christ and His Kingdom through personal spiritual discipline and public ministry
Seek to grow in that relationship with Christ through personal spiritual discipline, education, accountability and service to his Kingdom.
Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living
Be a mature Christian role model in attitude, speech and actions
Professional Qualifications:
Must have 12 ECE units (courses approved by Title 22 regulations); AA/BA Degree preferred
Show evidence of Christian maturity and a strong grasp of the essence of Christian education in the preschool environment
Be in compliance with the State of California requirements and qualifications as defined by Title 22 for a preschool teacher, including obtaining a signed form by your physician prior to employment
Be in compliance with the standards of our accreditation agency
Have a minimum of one year experience working with preschool aged children leading a classroom of 18 children
Possess the ability to interact effectively and maintain a good rapport with parents, peers and administrative staff
Maintain current infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
Pass a TB test every 4 years
Proof of immunizations for DTaP, MMR, Influenza
Submit to fingerprinting and receive criminal clearance from the Department of Justice and FBI
