Job Description:
Hite Consulting is seeking a Communications Specialist to support our client at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position will augment the work of existing staff and assist with a variety of communication and marketing activities.
This position is a hybrid role primarily working remotely, with client engagement activities in Atlanta, GA.
NOTE: This position is Contract Contingent and is waiting to be awarded.
Position Duties:

Assists with developing, testing, and disseminating science- and audience-based products, tools, and messages to different audiences in a variety of formats;

Drafts clear, concise communications for internal and external audiences;
-
Drafts written materials that are accurate, well organized, and appropriate for the intended audience;

Develops and presents printed, electronic, and audiovisual materials for technical and lay audiences, scientific journals, and Internet and other mass-media outlets;
-
Assists with translating and disseminating complex scientific concepts and data for use by various organizations, communities, the public, and the media;

Applies communication theories and uses audience segmentation analysis and formative research to help select appropriate communication channels and messages;

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
-
8+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or other related field, or 6+ years of experience and a Master’s Degree, or 10+ years of experience and an Associate Degree;

Strong written and verbal communication skills;
-
Ability to translate complex information into public messages;
-
Experience working with social media;
-
Experience working with press and media relations;

Knowledge of communication science methods;
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

Proficiency in the use of file-sharing, word processing software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Planner and/or Project;

Experience with posting, editing, and maintaining information on the SharePoint platform;

Experience in filing documents, electronic routing, or managing file structures within a MS-SharePoint environment;

Exceptional attention to detail; and
-
US Citizenship is required to obtain or maintain an active NACI security clearance.
