Liberty Doctors, LLC is looking for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to work full-time at a family medicine primary care practice located in North Charleston, SC.

Job Summary: Under the guidance of a physician or mid-level provider, a CMA will provide nursing services and other appropriate forms of medical care to patients in a patient setting. As part of the medical team, the CMA will serve in a supportive role to the primary care provider carrying out the duties necessary to provide optimal patient care. This can include communicating directly with patients and their families both face to face and via phone and communicating with other members of the medical team to appropriately coordinate care. CMA is responsible for obtaining patient’s medical history, conducting patient education, assisting with lab tests and other duties related to patient care.
Reports to: Office Manager and Physician
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients and obtains vital signs including: weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and documents information in patient’s chart including quality measures
- Assists physician in exam rooms; scribes for physician as needed
- Provide instructions to patients as instructed by physician
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments and perform sterilization as required
- Handle telephone calls and messages; provides feedback and answers to patients, physicians, pharmacies, etc
- Obtain prior-authorizations as needed
- Chart-Prep for future appointments; Ensures all related reports, labs and information is available in patients medical record prior to their appointment
- Knowledge of utilizing the modalities within the practice
- All other duties as assigned by Office Manager
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Efficient and organized; able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-pace environment
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- Computer savvy
Education and Experience:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required
- 1+ year of experience in medical field (required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
