The Department of Labor is looking for a well-qualified and experienced Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for the supervision and management of major projects within the department. The Senior Project Manager will be in charge of organizing, carrying out, and finishing projects while making sure that they are finished in time, in the right budget, and within the limits of the scope and schedule. The successful candidate will show a great leadership, good communication and a professional history of successfully completing projects in a government or related area.
Responsibilities:
- Use best practices to implement solutions to address DOL’s business objectives and priorities as they relate to the services requested.
- Review the proposals from individual contributors, their specifications, and schedules to ensure that all needs are met.
- Prepare an overall schedule to coordinate all contributors, while meeting DOL’s deadlines. Provide overall project leadership with respect to resource allocation and utilization, scope control, risk analysis and other relevant issues specific to each Order.
- Facilitate incremental project update meetings, as involved parties deem appropriate. Support and facilitate working group and associated board meetings.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience, successfully coordinating office relocation with multiple customers.
- Coordination experience should include managing projects that have required furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), interior design services, transition services/move planning and coordination, and floor covering/carpet services and other ancillary services/products.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills focused on multiple levels of project management.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain, logistics, workforce and finance management issues and strategies.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing a team of service providers experienced in providing relocation services.
- Through knowledge of office relocation logistics concerning people, property, and all services required.
