Position Overview:
This position is responsible to manage the preparation and implementation of the field service staff performing JLN/Top Rung Inspection and Testing activities. This oversight is designed to facilitate successful delivery and recording of all standard JLN/Top Rung Services offered with-in the portfolio of Top Rung products. This position will compose or coordinate with others in the composition of JLN/Top Rung Testing equipment and supplies on three levels of delivery: JLN/Top Rung Customers, potential JLN/Top Rung Customers, and internal JLN/Top Rung staff. The role will also help to develop, compile and keep current product documentation in support of installation or servicing of JLN/Top Rung Equipment.
This range of activities will be focused on implementation of testing products, performing preventive maintenance to testing equipment and product refurbishment/repair. This position will work closely with counterparts in the JLN Industrial Services organization to maintain consistent development and delivery of the testing products. This role should also be prepared to provide consultation or guidance on technical services when in contact with customers and other field staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide quality service to JLN/Top Rung’s internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding JLN/Top Rung Values at all times.
- Implement and maintain a schedule that maximizes revenue verses overhead value.
- Ensures timely and consistent recording and reporting on the delivery of JLN/Top Rung Services purchased by and owed to Top Rung customers.
- Develop and deliver testing configurations for JLN/Top Rung Staff, along with JLN/Top Rung Customers or potential customers.
- Provide to measure effectiveness of services.
- Assists management to develops and deliver an in-service training program for staff.
- May also evaluate customer feedback and utilize the feedback to improve field service testing programs.
- Organize and prepare test team activities so test session objectives are set, communicated and achieved.
- Provide active participation in service workshops, trades shows and meetings to ensure consistent product and process delivery.
- Oversee and assure quality in-service delivery by JLN/Top Rung field service staff.
Responsibility and Decision-Making Authority:
Prepares and monitors assigned tasks start to finish.
Maintains and reports teams performance in support of Management Review.
Provides shop and test site direction for field staff.
Management/Supervisory Responsibilities:
Field Service team and local oversight support within JLN/Top Rung Offices.
Qualifications/Competencies/Position Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have clinical or technical level working knowledge of JLN/Top Rung products.
- Project or product management experience would be valuable.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize, plan and execute are key success factors in this position.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in field work and heavy customer contact is considered valuable and a critical key to the success of this position as well as staff development.
- Five to seven years history of demonstrated success in work experience in customer related t e s t i n g a n d m a i n t e n a n c e activities.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 a plus
Licensing and Certification:
Capable as being certified as Emergency Vehicle Technician for Pumps, Aerial, Ground Ladders.
Working Hours:
Monday through Friday, Minimum of 40 hours per week, may require additional time to meet Top Rung or JLN deadlines. Weekend work will be required at times to meet client requests and needs.
As this position also interacts directly with customers or potential customers some evening or weekend work may also be required.
Working Environment:
Usually performed in the field at client locations with some time spent in an office setting.
Tools and Equipment Used:
Full array of JLN/Top Rung Testing Equipment and service-related assets, PC, and other typical office computer programs
Travel: Domestic travel approximately 25% to alternate JLN/Top Rung Test sites.
Physical Demands:
Ability to speak to and hear customers and or other employees via phone or in person. Ability to lift 50 pounds of test equipment or other supplies products.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
