$61-$66 per hour
SCHEDULE
Monday – Friday (40 hours per week) with flexibility to work from home
Expected travel 5 days per month to various sites around the East Coast.
POSITION OVERVIEW: Lead Transmission Specialist/SAP
Responsible for HV system integration, operational supervision and electrical safety rules (HV/MV/LV)
JOB DUTIES
- Ensure compliance with and management of Electrical Safety Rules
- Safety coordination in electrical matters
- Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management
- Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities
- Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings
- Act as "senior authorized person"
- Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Authorized Operators
- Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules
- Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams
- Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters
- Check method statements for electrical matters
- Implement and provide training programs for relevant staff according to the rules
- Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters
- Assist different departments when required
- Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for electrical issues accordingly to US legislation and regulation
- Delegating scopes of works for the whole team of Transmission Specialist on sites both offshore and onshore work scopes
- Responsible for and managing rotaplan’s for all Transmission Specialist and Operators on site
- Leading all improvements of instructions and site-specific instructions improvements related to High Voltage electrical operations on sites
- Implementation of Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work
- Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables
- Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment
- Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network
- Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively
- Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages
- Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables
- Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network
- Oversee and the delegation of planning of all switching activities on sites, both offshore and onshore activities
- Controlling the safety documents for the Electrical Safety Rules on site
- Define safety procedures for electrical matters
- Delegation of tasks to the Operators on sites, who oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment
- Reviewing the high voltage scope of work
- Knowledge and experience with US specific standards
KEY DELIVERABLES
- Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans)
- Participation in different audits
- Reports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipment’s
- Onsite check of switching programs
- Participation in the planning of resource and work activities
- Participation in authorizations and assessments of new candidates
- Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspects
DECISION AUTHORITY/RESPONSIBILITY
- Say in relation to MV/HV switching and isolations
- Issue of client Electrical Safety Rules safety rules documents
- Management of electrical safety to work onsite
REQUIREMENTS
- Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope.
- Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high-voltage electricity
- Minimum 3 years of working experience within onshore substation systems
- For this position, the candidate needs to be able to pass GWO and medical courses for offshore work

- 2 year long contract with high likelihood to extend to 3 years
