San Antonio Family Physicians is a growing doctor-owned practice in Westover Hills/SeaWorld area. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care for each patient in a family-friendly environment utilizing the latest innovations and technology, including user-friendly EMR. We are a busy clinic that offers ancillary testing on-site to facilitate patient compliance and convenience. STAT labs are also available. Level III Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) qualified.
We are seeking to add a Nurse Practitioner (APRN, FNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (MPAS, PA-C) with Family Medicine Experience. Candidate must have at least one year of experience in Primary Care setting, be comfortable seeing patients of all ages and managing chronic care conditions. Bilingual in English & Spanish is a PLUS!

Overview of the Role:
Provide the primary care to patients; acting as an assistant to Physicians in the clinic following established standards and practices.
Essential Job Duties:
- Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed
- Perform complete physical exams and record findings
- Collaborate with physician in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention; recommend community resources to meet patient needs
- Educate patients and family regarding healthcare concerns & problems, office & hospital procedures, medications, testing, treatment instructions etc.
- Triage patient calls and provide consultation
- Manage medical and surgical procedures/emergencies
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between patient visits
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations
- Cooperate and interact with team members and coworkers
- Maintain patient flow, a safe environment for patients and others, and patient confidentiality
- Follow HIPAA guidelines
- Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Professional Nursing Experience in a Clinical Setting
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective, working relationships
- Ability to handle oneself in a professional manner
- Adheres to policies and procedures
Education/Certificate/License
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
- Current possession of a State Registered Nurse license
- American Nurse Credentialing (ANC) Certification
- CPR Certification
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8 hour shift
- One late night per week (10 am to 7 pm)
- One Saturday per month (9 am to 2 pm)
