Wild Mike’s Ultimate Pizza is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join the Team! We are the 19th largest independent frozen food manufacturer in the US located in Clackamas, OR, and we are experiencing exponential growth!
JOB SUMMARY
Provide strategic direction, oversight and alignment with division processes for all quality functions including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Compliance and Document Control. Specific areas of oversight include the following: Quality Manual/Procedures, External Audit Management, Internal Audit Program, Complaint Handling, Document/Records Management, Training, and Inspection. Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S.and international regulatory requirements pertaining to quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
It is essential for all employees to adhere to Company policies.
A. Lead S.A. Piazza & Associates through stages of FDA/USDA/GMP/SQF compliance processes
B. Extensive verbal and technical writing skills requisite
C. Define the QA function; Ensure the quality system infrastructure is established and maintained in accordance with current applicable regulations.
D. Author, review, and approve procedures, policies, and standards.
E. Implement effective SOP/FDA/USDA/GMP/SQF training processes and documentation systems.
F. Proactively identify compliance issues/risks and provide corrective actions
G. Represent S.A. Piazza & Associates and maintain professional contact with customers, industry, and regulatory personnel
H. Oversee quality system and process validation
I. Create a strong collaborative environment, develop and motivate staff to excel in timely production of compliant high-quality products.
J. Routinely evaluate the existing quality system; Set future direction to improve product/process quality

Education/SKILL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
A. 3+ years of experience in a food manufacturing leadership role preferred
B. A.S. or B.S. degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field required
C. HACCP trained and certified required
D. SQF experience required, formal training preferred
E. Experience with FDA/USDA/GMP compliance preferred
F. PCQI experience preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A. Standing/Walking: Occasionally - Most assignments and work functions are performed while standing.
B. Sitting: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day)
C. Crouching (bending at knees): Occasionally – Crouching is necessary when lifting materials.
D. Reaching: Continually – All positions require continual handling of small parts and various materials. Reaching is primarily performed between waist and shoulder level. Some overhead reaching is required.
E. Stooping (bend at waist): Rarely – May bend at waist while checking finished capsules.
F. Kneeling: Rarely – Kneels to retrieve materials from the floor.
G. Handling: Continually – Handles small components, powders, papers
H. Fingering/Feeling/Grasping: To manipulate computer, handles various paperwork, files, etc. Grasps writing instruments, adjust instruments used for analyses of materials etc.
I. Lifting/Carrying: Frequently – All tasks require lifting and carrying boxes or bins of materials/parts up to 30 feet. A typical weight range is 10-30 pounds. Stacks of boxes and bins may weigh as much as 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL HAZARDS
A. Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned office setting.
B. Occasionally works in production environment with occasional exposure to noise and cleaning agents including bleach
C. Occasionally exposed to a production environment with temperatures varying from -10-100 degrees Fahrenheit
D. Must adhere to Company safety policies and wear the required personal protective equipment.
UNPLANNED ACTIVITIES/ADDITIONAL DUTIES
A. Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed.
