Job Summary
As a Health Representative, you will play a vital role in engaging Alfa customers by building, establishing, and nurturing relationships. In addition, you will be responsible for meeting or exceeding new contract enrollment goals to contribute to the overall growth of Alfa Health and benefits to Alfa Members.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate customer service externally to new and existing clients and policyholders, and internally to Alfa Agents and Sales Representatives.
- Performs data entry for all new Health, Dental and Medicare applications.
- Evaluates customer options and makes recommendations on CMS regulated Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage plans available through multiple carriers.
- Displays a strong costumer centric focus and is self-motivated to provide positive results.
- Follow-up on submitted referrals and inbound requests for quote.
- Upload, index, and maintain customer enrollment information including applications, statements regarding income, pertinent electronic communications (i.e. email) in the HIPAA compliant, cloud-based file storage system: ‘BOX’
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
- Must be able to obtain Alabama Health Insurance License within 90 days of hire.
- Must have or be able to obtain Health Insurance producer license issued from the Alabama Department of Insurance; must complete the required CE courses (24 credits in a 2-year period) to maintain state insurance license.
- Must apply for and obtain Non-Resident Producer Health licenses in Mississippi and Georgia.
- 1 year of experience with customer service in a high-volume environment, with peak season sales emphasis.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Box imaging system (scanning/indexing), AWS Connect call center and chat support, email composition, direct letter writing, knowledge of income tax filing procedures and forms, and basic mathematics skills.
- Must complete the appointment process for approximately one-dozen Health Insurance carriers across a 3-state radius. Must maintain appointments through carrier provided continuing education.
- Alfa administered skills tests, and annual training requirements.
