General Summary:
The Public Relations Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategic public relations campaigns to enhance our organization’s public image and promote our mission.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and execute comprehensive public relations plans to promote our organization’s brand and objectives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, and influencers to secure press coverage.
- Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other materials to garner media attention, keep Silver Star and its efforts in the news and to promote an overall positive public image.
- Coordinate and manage media inquiries and interview requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Plan and coordinate press events, coordinate with the marketing department regarding announcements on product launches and other PR activities.
- Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities for proactive public relations initiatives.
- Manage the content and exposure of our professional social media channels (LinkedIn, etc)
- Engage with other industry associations, industry partners, local businesses and elected officials through traditional and social media outlets promoting the brand and influence our organization has on our community.
- Serve as a corporate image ambassador to represent the organization as its spokesperson as required and to properly prepare executives and other members of senior leadership for media interviews and public appearances.
Experience / Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messages.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Creative thinking and strategic mindset, with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
- Crisis management expertise and experience in safeguarding corporate image and reputation.
- Ability to maintain a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License.
