SALES AND SERVICE
- Ensure that all Tasting Room staff follows responsible hospitality standards at all times.
- Ensure that all visitors are greeted immediately when they enter the Tasting Room or approach a tasting station and provided with experiences that build brand loyalty.
- In-depth knowledge of brand, product, winemaking techniques, POS system is required to successfully train and lead the rest of the team.
- TAMS training required.
- Serve Safe certification required.
- Hire, train, and onboarding new employees.
- Oversee Tasting Room staff to ensure they are professionally trained on all procedures, including operating POS system, maintaining proper inventory control, signing up club members and collecting custom contact information for the loyalty program at the point of sale. Create sales goals for the staff to continually try to raise the AOV of customers on site.
- Manage the tasting room staff schedule.
- Must be able to safely move 50 pound boxes up and down stairs.
- Be proactive, problem solve, and have the ability to adapt to change.
- Carry out duties associated with opening and closing of the Tasting Room and make sure all regular full-time and regular part-time staff are professionally trained on the opening and closing procedures.
- Fully support Simpson Family Estates policies and procedures.
MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP
- Lead, develop and train the Tasting Room Sales team to achieve daily sales and budgeted goals and to build increased customer loyalty.
- Nurture an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiastic employee relations among the Tasting Room staff.
- Strong leadership qualities with both customers and employees, promoting excellence in team and individual growth.
- Build brand loyalty through welcoming hospitality and brand knowledge.
- Elevate the customer experience through presentation and execution of service.
- Lead by example not through delegation.
- Communicate effectively news, updates, and procedure changes to the Tasting Room Team.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and/or situations and the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Effectively resolve customer or staff conflict directly, knowing when to refer to staff to upper management.
- Maintain accurate physical inventory of wine, food, and merchandise for the retail room. This includes ordering from vendors, transfers from warehouses and monthly physical inventory count.
- Follow margin guidelines to create a sustainable and elevated food program along with occasional wine-cocktail programs.
- Collaborate with ownership on bringing in and implementing new vendors that meet brand standards and aid sales goals. Research, select, and present merchandise, apparel, and brand building materials for sale and use in the tasting room.
- Assist with Wine Club duties. Be well versed on club benefits with programs, policies, pricing, orders, procedures, and deadlines to assist staff and customers alike in all tasks.
- Oversee and support the execution of wine club goals and initiatives with the wine club manager.
- Manage communication with customers and tour companies by responding to emails, virtual chats, and phone messages.
- Communicate with customers, staff, management, and ownership clearly and respectfully.
- Maintain and program systems (Wine Direct, Quickbooks Time, etc)
- Create consistent promotions to drive sales.
- Assist other departments as needed
- Collaborate with other department heads to continually improve programs.
- Special projects and other responsibilities as requested by Ownership.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
