Manager in Training
The Manager in Training plays a pivotal role in supervising the daily operations of the store, focusing on business development, sales, and fostering gross profit growth by engaging with both end-user and commercial printing customers. Additionally, they assist in managing a small team, ensuring the creation and maintenance of an appealing store image, and cultivating a secure environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures smooth and efficient store operations throughout the business day, maintaining optimal staffing levels to deliver exceptional service to customers
- Manages customer inquiries and requests adeptly, handling quotations, orders, changes, and cancellations via various communication channels such as counter-sales, telephone, email, and fax
- Cultivates and sustains robust customer relationships, representing Millcraft as the primary liaison in customer-facing interactions
- Utilizes Microsoft Dynamics, our ERP system, to process daily orders, prioritizing same-day and next-day deliveries, and accessing customer data and order information as necessary
- Conducts weekly sales calls to existing and potential customers, executing sales and marketing strategies to exceed company growth and profitability objectives while providing training on best practices to colleagues
- Identifies key target customers and monitors their progress through measurable metrics, managing key accounts, providing customer solutions, enhancing retention, and expanding our customer base
- Coordinates with Supply Chain management and vendors to maintain proper inventory selection and levels
- Identifies items for weekly specials and sales features, collaborates on monthly flyers and sales collateral with Marketing, and supports the effectiveness of the monthly Feature List
- Assists in accounts receivable and credit activities, including reviewing aging reports, addressing credit-hold issues, and conducting credit and collection calls to drive positive outcomes
- Handles banking tasks, including periodic deposits and providing banking details to relevant parties in coordination with Finance/Accounting
- Effectively utilizes CRM systems to facilitate customer communication
- Performs warehouse duties, including stock fulfillment, loading and unloading deliveries, receiving products, and accurately completing inventory cycle counts
- Proficiently operates Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to optimize paper movement to customers
- Assists in hiring, training, developing, evaluating, scheduling, and retaining store personnel
- Manages the store team’s time and attendance using ADP’s Time and Attendance system
- Ensures adherence to all company procedures and practices to maintain compliance

- You demonstrate advanced technical proficiency, adeptly utilizing various software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel) and navigating the Internet with ease. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is highly advantageous.
- Your exceptional organizational skills are evident in maintaining a welcoming and secure store environment for both customers and staff. You take pride in upholding cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards throughout the store and warehouse, reflecting positively on our brand.
- Proficient in analyzing, comparing, contrasting, and synthesizing information, you methodically process data to generate insightful ideas and recommendations.
- You possess the physical capability to lift at least 75lbs, ensuring you can effectively meet the demands of the role.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year of managerial or supervisory experience in a retail/wholesale sales and service environment.
- Paper (terminology and grades) and packaging experience is highly beneficial.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent local travel may be required to meet with customers and prospects

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is moderately quiet to moderately noisy. Work is performed in an office environment or outside the office with existing or potential customers, employees or others. Within the office, floors are both carpeted and tiled. Occasional interaction may occur within the Operations environment wherein noise is moderate to loud and floors are generally concrete. Temperature is moderated by heat in the winter and air conditioning or air circulation methods in the summer.
