We are currently looking for a Lead Teacher with flexible hours for our Florham Park location. The ideal candidate would lead a classroom of 2 year old students and assistant teachers through daily activities, etc. Shift would require the ability to work until 6:00PM if needed.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Understanding the Life Essentials curriculum thoroughly and developing and implementing supplemental lesson plans (as required) based on the monthly and seasonal themes and the interests of the children in the classroom
- Meeting the individual needs of the children including feeding and diapering
- Participating in staff and training meetings
- Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
- Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning and working through exciting projects
- Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
- Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem, confidence and social skills
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with children, parents and fellow staff using Academy tools and resources
- Meeting Kiddie Academy's Quality Assurance and NJ state licensing requirements
Lead Teachers ensure compliance with Kiddie Academy's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!
Teacher Qualifications:
- Bachelors, Associates or CDA certification required degree and classroom experience
- Strong written and communication skills, ability to communicate with parents, teachers and students
- Experience working in an educational day care facility – (at least 1 year preferred)
