The Ordinary Pub and Common Restaurant are looking to add to our guest service team and are now accepting applications for host.
The host is a fun and active position, responsible for acting as the first impression for restaurant guests, managing guest experience, and developing and maintaining effective avenues of communication with various teams throughout the restaurant. The person in this position will be tasked with positively effecting the guest experience throughout the entirety of the dining room.
The host is responsible for greeting guests at the host stand; taking reservations via phone and in-person; and communicating with servers, hosts, and managers regarding guests needs and concerns. The successful candidate must have professional and effective communication skills and phone etiquette; the ability to work calmly under pressure; the ability to work with a diverse team and the general public; a strong ability to troubleshoot, anticipate needs, and problem solve; and the ability to multitask.
The successful candidate must also be able to stand for long periods of time; to work in occasionally chaotic environments where direction may come from multiple sources; to climb stairs multiple times a day; to speak on the phone professionally and effectively; to squat, bend, twist, and reach over head; and to lift 25lbs.
