Position Description
Job Title: Human Resource Manager
Department: Admin
Reports To: CEO
FLSA: Non-Exempt – Full Time (30 hours per week maximum)
Position Summary
This position provides overall HR management for the organization and support/guidance to employees upon request. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned:
- Serve as the Company’s “Benefits Specialist” for all Medical, Dental, Vision and 401(k) programs including all written and verbal employee communications.
- Administration of COBRA program using inhouse tracking methods.
- Working with insurance broker and carriers, responsible for all aspects of the annual “Open Enrollment” benefits process.
- Coordinate the process for tracking new hire benefits eligibility or loss of benefits eligibility as a result of termination, loss of required hours, etc.
- Process new applications for medical, dental, vision and 401(k) benefits with the respective carrier.
- Provide required Notices to Employees for Unemployment Insurance claims and respond to claims filed via outside UI processing agency.
- Keep up to date and maintain a working knowledge of current state and federal employment labor laws that pertain to FMLA, CFRA, PTO, LOAs, FLSA, HIPPA, Sick Leave, Unemployment
- Insurance, Disability Insurance and other mandated emergency benefit programs.
- Provide recruiting expertise while searching for candidates and screening resumes for prospective new hires.
- Establish process of onboarding new hire employees to include preparation of job offer letters, I9 verification, background checks, drug testing, signed acknowledgements for the company handbook and other job specific policies, required payroll documents and explanation of current benefits plans.
- Serve as an unbiased, reliable point of contact for employees and their personal or professional concerns and interests.
- Maintain current and former employee personnel and benefits files.
- Work with management to coordinate and support verbal and written warnings to employees and terminations as necessary.
- Provide guidance and the necessary written documentation to update the Employee Handbook as required by a change in company policy or other state or federal mandate.

- Willingness to assist departments with tasks that may be outside of basic job description when necessary
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point
Minimum Experience
- 4-year degree in an applicable major.
- 2+ years of office-related experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and office equipment.
- 5-7 years of experience in related experience
- Ability to organize and prioritize diverse set of projects, tasks, and activities for timely completion
- Ability to coordinate and adapt to various interdepartmental activities/projects
- Integrity – job requires appropriate handling of confidential, sensitive information
Requirements
- Valid U.S. Person status: Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Fluent written and verbal skills in English.
