Our company is looking for an experienced Catering Coordinator to bring their extensive event planning experience to our rapidly growing business. The successful candidate will be able to take the lead on planning, organizing and executing large and small scale catering events. Candidates should have project management and customer relations skills, as well as plenty of experience planning and organizing all types of events.
Job Overview: The Catering Event Coordinator is the point of contact for booked events between the client and the business. The coordinator ensures all phases of assigned events have a high level of service and that all customer requirements and specifications are adhered to and that functions run smoothly, efficiently and profitably. The catering coordinator maintains a thorough knowledge of the business and its products and services as well as awareness of other roles and responsibilities throughout the organization. In addition the catering coordinator must maintain our vision and our values to the highest degree.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure that events as well as event documentation progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with management team and culinary staff, and ensuring accuracy
· Ensure that meeting space information is correct (e.g. food allergies, linens, floral arrangements and floor plan)
· Attend weekly staff meetings to ensure accuracy of BEO (Banquet Event Orders) with management team paying attention to detail, and ensuring the information accurately reflects what has been requested by the client
· Act as a liaison between the business and customer throughout the event process (pre-event, event, post-event) satisfying all customer needs
· Check all spaces before client arrival to ensure satisfaction; assist with set up as needed
· Greet the client upon arrival and be the point of contact throughout their event, handling questions and concerns in a professional manner
· May be asked to make to make pre-event and post-event calls to client to maintain the relationship and to gain potential future business
· Identify operational challenges associated with his/her group and determine how to best work with the venue and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions
· Solicit feedback from property to identify areas for improvement to enhance both event planning and customer experience
· Adhere to all standards, policies and procedures
· Attend and participate in all staff meetings as required
· Support other members of the team, stepping in to assist in duties as appropriately needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
