The Front Desk Attendant is the lead customer service contact for all members, guests, or prospects. The Front Desk attendant is also responsible for selling products, stocking, lifting up to 50 pounds, making shakes, standing for long periods of time, typing, light cleaning, club walk through, helping to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment, and for interacting with children through active play and structured activities when required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets and checks in all members and guests
- Sells products and services
- Answers and directs all incoming phone calls, update billing
- Fields all member complaints and concerns
- Performs Opening and Closing Procedures for the club if assigned those shifts
- Responsible for keeping both Program and Check-In desks clean, neat, and orderly
- Attends departmental meetings
- Maintains professionalism and appearance, when not assisting members; avoids eating, sitting, reading, Internet surfing, or any other activities that are not work-related
- Creates the “First Impression”
- Other duties as assigned, lifting up to 50 pounds,
- Standing for long periods of time
- Having good physical stamina & able to lift children & work at their physical level.
- Possess an understanding of how to identify and meet the needs of young children.
- Treating children, their families and visitors with dignity, respect & professionalism.
- Providing high quality care to children who can be physically/mentally demanding.
- Can establish a respectful relationship with children from any social background.
- Committed to safeguarding the welfare of toddlers and young children.
- Supervising the activities of young children at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness of toys, puzzles and surfaces of the room.
- Manage check-in and check-out for children.
- Communicated needs of supplies to management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be highly motivated and energetic
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- An understanding of health club operations
- Must be a team player, willing to cover or trade shifts and work with children in kids club when necessary
- Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have experience in customer service
- Experience in health club or the hospitality industry is preferred
- CPR, First Aid, and AED will be provided if not already certified
