What this job involves - The Operations Manager serves as a business partner to the local Markets business in JLL’s Chicago corporate office. The position will partner closely with the local Office Lead, with specific oversight for Brokerage operations. We are seeking a candidate with proven ability fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, developing high performing teams, and driving change and desired outcomes. The role provides a unique opportunity with exposure to all aspects of the business in a fast-paced environment. Reports to the Sr Director, Operations.
Operations oversight for overall office, primarily working with Brokerage but serves as point of contact for all other business lines
Partner with Broker Lead to achieve business objectives and firm/regional initiatives, ensure transparency, and build a culture of trust and teamwork within Brokerage and broader office
Ensure alignment between Marketing, Research and Operations (project coordinators) to provide best in class support to producers
Drive adoption and utilization of firm’s sales enablement and technology platforms
Develop and motivate a high-performing operation (project coordinator) team
Work with recruiting/HR for hiring and onboarding of new team members
Identify learning opportunities and provide training as needed
Develop retention and recognition program for high value talent
Manage marginal performers
Partner with Finance to ensure complete, accurate and timely reporting
Closed transaction processing
Ensure AR over 60 days < 5%
Ensure regular review/updates of pipeline (WIP)
Ensure compliance with Firm’s, region and or local market specific policies, including expense policies and pre-approval requirements
Ensure accurate time reporting by direct reports and provide timely approvals
Ensure all policies and procedures are communicated effectively and adopted by team members
Responsible for organizing team meetings, client events, philanthropy events, and culture building activities
Partner with regional Facilities team and [local Capital Markets Operation Manager] to ensure all facilities needs are met
Interested? An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications:
Required
5+ years prior management experience and prior business operations experience – in commercial real estate industry a plus
Demonstrated leadership ability with collaborative management style
Critical thinker with high emotional intelligence and strong conflict management ability
Strong business acumen to understand/provide context for decisions; able to influence and challenge decisions as appropriate
Proven experience developing high performance teams; high employee engagement and effective delegator
Excellent project management ability; solution oriented, organized and resourceful
Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
Comfortable working in a fast-paced sales environment
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related / equivalent
