We are looking for Truss Department Quality Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Production Manager. The Truss Department Quality Engineer will be responsible for monitoring the current quality standards, as well as implementing new processes to ensure the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction. This role will collaborate with the MSI welding and truss assembly teams, as well as directly with the customer to address quality concerns and identify areas for improvement, as well as drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department. This position will involve some hands-on work with the assembly team to become aware of their process and recognize where improvements can be achieved.

Key Responsibilities:
- Verify current quality control procedures and protocols are being performed in compliance with customer requirements and internal work procedures.
- Conduct product and process audits to identify non-conformities and areas for improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality records. Specifically, develop and maintain a system to ensure all employee qualifications and certifications within the department are maintained.
- Train employees on quality control procedures and provide guidance on best practices.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics to track performance and identify trends.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in quality management and incorporate them into the department’s quality system.
- Must be able to interact directly with the customer. Weekly conference calls, handling customer visits, occasional travel to the customer’s facility, and the ability to answer technical questions are all required.
