Job Summary:
The Ramp Services Agent is responsible for the logistics and operations of our airport services and the safe and efficient execution of all ground service tasks in compliance with company and federal regulations. This includes loading and unloading passenger baggage and cargo, as well as operating ground service equipment to maneuver aircraft.
This part-time position requires flexibility to work in various weather conditions and availability for different shifts based on operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently load and unload cargo, including mail, express packages, baggage, freight, and company materials, on and off aircraft.
- Handle cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. within confined cargo areas.
- Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers to and from aircraft.
- Pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt.
Transportation:
- Safely transport cargo between terminals and aircraft, ensuring timely and accurate ramp transfers as needed.
- Drive vehicles with gross weights ranging from 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested areas with aircraft, moving and stationary vehicles, and equipment.
- Transport cargo to and from aircraft using 3,000 lb. vehicles, requiring precise depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors (red, green, and yellow).
Aircraft Operations:
- Engage in aircraft push-out operations, either by driving an 80,000 lb. vehicle or assisting by providing guidance using depth perception in congested areas.
- Perform proper ground-to-cockpit communication via hand signals and voice commands, with and without visual aids, during push-out and towing functions.
- De-ice aircraft at heights of 20 to 80 ft., spraying the exterior of wings and fuselage with glycol.
Freight Management:
- Handle the receiving, delivering, and physical handling of freight and company materials, including export operations at designated express docks.
- Manage mail and baggage in the outbound baggage room, ensuring accurate processing and delivery.
- Read "off-load" sheets to determine the destination of cargo.
Documentation:
- Complete necessary forms and messages related to your tasks, ensuring compliance with operational requirements.
Security Compliance:
- Adhere to WFS site security procedures for the assigned warehouse and other operations.
- Stay aware of the activities of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors, reporting any security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program.
- Confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas, reporting their presence to authorities as necessary.
Operational Support:
- Pull water hoses from stationary cabinets and connect them to aircraft.
- Lift, connect, and remove 40 lb. KVA electric cables to/from aircraft overhead.
- Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a high-noise level environment.
- Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without visual aids.
- Ability to successfully communicate with others.
- Ability to judge distances accurately.

Minimum Requirements:
- HS Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days off.
**This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.**
Preferred Skills:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift to 70 lbs.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions as well as environmental conditions, i.e., jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise.
- Ability to distinguish colors, red, green, and yellow.
