Primary Responsibilities:
- Interfacing with referring medical clinics, physicians, insurance adjusters and patients.
- As part of a multidisciplinary team, supports our physicians in the delivery of care to patients.
- Obtaining authorizations for treatment.
- Obtaining medical records.
- Verifies patient information, history taking, confirmation of current condition.
- Coordinated patient care with scheduler.
- Arranging patient transportation
- Counsels patients on physician orders.
- Updates and verifies patient information in our EMR system
- Following up on medical appointments, authorizations and requests for medical records
- Providing support to coworkers.
- To be cross-trained and back up to co-workers
Required Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- Strong writing skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Administration and/or Medical Assistant Certificate
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Team player
- Consistently positive attitude
Minimum Experience:
- 1 ‐ 2 years medical office and or clinical experience, preferable in Occupational Health, Urgent Care.
Preferred Experience:
- 2 ‐ 5 years medical office experience in Patient Case Coordination
